DESCRIPTION:The second Boomtec for the year is Friday 22 May.
 
Prepurchae your tickets at the school office for 10.00 (gets priority entry).  Tickets can be used for any Boomtec throughout 2015.
 
Where:   Norwood Secondary College Hall, Byron Road, North Ringwood
 
This Disco is for Level 4 students only and has been run for a number of year now.   The Boomtec committee send out invitations to all schools in the Maroondah region, so at any one disco we can have up to 400 children attend.  There is a canteen which sells a range of chips, drinks and glow products.  We have 3 raffles during the night with prizes ranginf from canteen vouchers, free entry to Boomtec and movie passes.  We have a DJ Ian Wood who also runs all our school discos & graduation. His children also attend Tinternvale.
 
Boomtec is not only a fun night for the kids but we as a commitee strongly believe it helps with the transitiion to secondary school.  For 2 years the Level 4 students get to socialise with children their own age from different schools.  Once they start secondary college, although they may not know children personally, they will see familiar faces which can make the transition a little less scary.
 
 
Also Boomtec relies heavily on the support of volunteers.  If we don't get a minimum of 20 from Tinternvale we have to cap at less than 400 or at worst cancel Boomtec all together.  Should you with to volunteer please put your name down at the office.  All Volunteers must be over the age of 18 & hold a current Working with Children Check.
