Early Years Literacy and Numeracy
The Early Years Literacy & Numeracy Strategy is a comprehensive and strategic approach to literacy achievement in the early years of schooling. The Early Years Literacy Program’s essential features are:

a daily, focused two-hour classroom literacy/numeracy session

case management of students who require additional assistance

strategically planned home/school partnerships

the identification of an Early Years Literacy & Numeracy Coordinator

Technology
Tinternvale Primary School aims to provide an excellent learning environment that promotes a whole school learning community. The school community- staff, parents and students- will be facilitators in fostering life long learners who are resilient and can adapt to change. The students will develop the necessary information and communication skills that will allow them to work collaboratively and be interactive in their learning processes. The use of elearning will be integrated across the curriculum to further enhance the student’s learning. The use of the Internet will enrich student’s skills and knowledge and enable access to an informational global community. Learning and teaching will support an integration of educational projects between students and teachers across all learning areas.
eLearning encourages students and staff to assume greater responsibility for their own learning. At Tinternvale, this will be facilitated through:
